DOSS
Danish Open Source Society is working to promote open standards and open source. The purpose of DOSS is to create tangible results through the work of the its members. DOSS has a very pragmatic approach and values tangible results higher than intangible principles. Most of the work of DOSS is done by a small group of very serious members. As part of the DOSS-approach to promote Open Source, the society is behind a development project in Chinandega in the Northeastern Nicaragua. Open Source is here used to enhance the communication and learning in several villages. In that way DOSS is contributing, through the promotion of Open Source, to the improvement of the conditions of life in a specific area of the world. This pilot project can be viewed as an integrated part of the overall strategy of DOSS on the promotion of Open Source and Open Standards.
