Provocative
Provocative is an album by singer Johnny Gill. It was his second album for Motown Records and fourth album overall. Provocative is notable for having most of the songs produced by the production team Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Three singles were released from the album with music videos. The first single "The Floor" was accompanied by a music video directed by Julien Temple. The video for the second single "Long Way From Home" was directed by Wayne Isham. The final single "I Got You" was directed by Sanji. While the singles were moderate successes, the album's best known song was the ballad "Quiet Time To Play" which became popular in the Quiet Storm format on urban radio. To date, Provocative remains Johnny Gill's lowest selling album on Motown.
