Meanies are an inexpensive snack food, intended to fill the same niche as products such as crisps, and are supplied in similar packets. They are made from corn and wheat and flavoured to taste of pickled onion. They are made by the Irish arm of KP Snacks. Once easily available through the United Kingdom these snacks can now mainly be purchased in Ireland and in few stores in the UK.
