Waiting Room
Waiting Room was an Australian band with Alan Fletcher as lead vocalist. The band also consists of Chris Hawker, Tommy Rando and Jeff Consi. With an upbeat rocky feel to most songs the band have gained a large group of followers on their own merit as well as from Fletcher's own personal fanbase from his portrayal of Karl Kennedy in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. The band play at The Elephant and Wheelbarrow in St Kilda, Victoria, Australia. The band often tour the UK, where Fletcher is well-known because of his role in Neighbours. The band released their debut album "In the Waiting Room" in 2005. With Fletcher's link to Neighbours, a couple of their songs have been about Neighbours characters including Sleeping Alongside Susan which was a remix of Smokie's Living Next Door to Alice. This was in reference to his characters relationship with Izzy Hoyland. Fletcher toured the UK in September and October 2009 with band The X-Rays featuring Johnny Lucas, Chris Hanby and Martin Stewart. Waiting Room announced their split in December 2012, and their last EP, Swan Songs had been released by April 2013.
