Stripped
Stripped is the fourth studio album by American recording artist Christina Aguilera, released on October 26, 2002 by RCA Records. Looking to transition from the teen pop and bubblegum pop styles from her debut album, Christina Aguilera, she took creative control over her next album project. Musically, its music incorporates many genres, including pop, R&B, soul, rock and hip hop. As executive producer, Aguilera enlisted collaborators including Scott Storch, Linda Perry, and Alicia Keys. Upon its release, Stripped received generally mixed reviews from music critics, who complained its lack of musical focus and Aguilera's songwriting. Although being criticized, the album received multiple Grammy Awards nominations, and won one for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance with "Beautiful". Commercially, Stripped debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 330,000 copies. Consequently, it was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipping over 4.3 million copies there. The album also reached the top five of Canada, Europe, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. As of June 2006, Stripped has sold over 12 million copies worldwide.
Stripped
Stripped is a song by British electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was released as the lead single from their fifth studio album, Black Celebration (1986), on 10 February 1986, through Mute Records. Written by the band's lead songwriter Martin Gore, "Stripped" has been described as an "ominous and intriguing pop song". It incorporates different samples into its instrumental; most notably, the sound of an idling Porsche engine was taken, altered slightly, then used as a percussive element. It was the band's sixth consecutive single to enter the UK Top 20, peaking at number 15. Elsewhere, it peaked at number 4 in Germany and reached the top 10 in Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland. German metal band Rammstein later covered the song for the 1998 Depeche Mode tribute album For the Masses. Despite having a controversial music video, it would go on to peak at number 14 in Germany and receive praise from Depeche Mode band members.
